Chiffon Cakes

Haven't baked chiffon cakes for many years and finally did it again the last 2 weekends.

Shhhhh.....

                            Got to stay home today and had my little boy
                            sleep-in a little bit with me. Haven't watched                             
                            him sleeping for quite a while....it's priceless.

James' Coriander

To reinforce what my son is learning at school, we planted Coriander seeds and ginger in pots. My boys and I take turns in watering them and they were so happy and amazed when the Coriander seeds started to sprout. The ginger is growing fast too. We have also planted some mint but will post about it later on.

Coffee Table

A coffee table I inherited from my sis-in-law just had a make-over on Friday night. 
I used some wall paper decoupage bought from SPOTLIGHT which was so easy to use.

With the help of my in-house handyman and ever helpful hubby, he applied shellac on it and gave it a new look.


I pre-orered the glass top which arrived the following afternoon and VOILA!  Here's my new coffee table!

Mini Garden

This is my younger son, Jairus' school project.
They are learning about plants and how it gives us food and fresh air.
It is made of 100% recycled things.  We used Saga seeds which I collected from my workplace, Lego pieces and creepy crawly toys that we have at home, a cardboard, dried leaves and plastic ones that were already old and brittle, and some plastacine we found in the toy box.

    I didn't know cactuses can grow flowers and so I was so amazed to see this!

    Hubby got this as a souvenier from one of the events he went to 6 years ago.  We took care of it and placed it outside the house where it gets enough sunshine during the day.                   

    In October 2011, we sold our flat and had to temporarily stay at my sis-in-law's place, so we brought our plants to our workplace and had a kind brother help us take care of them.  We have brought back some to our new place but this cactus somehow hasn't.  I guess with lots of care, fresh air and sunlight it bloomed....

Making Up Through Their Stomachs

Prawn Noodles Soup

In my attempt to learn how to cook Singapore food, I cooked Prawn Noodles Soup for dinner yesterday.  It didn't taste as good as my hubby's favourite at Adam Road Hawker's Centre, but we accomplished a few milestones with this meal. 

Both my boys tried eating prawns for the first time!  My James even had 2 pieces of it!  He is such a fussy eater that he dare not eat a lot of things.  He is not a soup person, but he had the whole bowl of it, and finished all the noodles as well.  What a joy to see him try new things.

I may not gotten a thumbs up from hubby for it, but sure got it from my boys. :)

Banana Bread





Have been trying this new recipe I found on the net.  My boys have been patiently finishing up the unsuccessful ones I baked the last few weeks.  I have not perfected it yet but I would like to think that I'm getting there. :)

Sushi For Dinner

Made Sushi with my boys for dinner today.  Also did a special Nagaraya sushi inspired by them coz they love Nagaraya nut crackers.  We had them in front of the TV today which is only allowed once in a while.  Dinner vanished quite fast, expecially for my Jamesy.
I made Pork Stew for my dear hubby who has not been well the last few days and doesn't fancy sushi at all. :-)

Working At It......

While waiting for my Jai to finish his swimming training, i managed to work on my WIP today.

Technology Nowadays

Blogging from my iPhone now. Was not aware of this till today. How advance technology is nowadays. I can even upload photos! I used to do it through photobucket which involves a lot more steps and deterred me from blogging before. What a relief! I can even blog during my tea break at work! I'm loving the conveniences of high technology!

Beef Lasagna Dinner

Made Beef Lasagna for dinner today. Inspired by hubby's craving for it 2 Sundays back but didn't have the time to make it. Finally satisfied his craving today. My boys finished dinner in 15 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes! I must say it was a hit!
